Akina Strings members are all active music teachers and educators. Our members have received extensive training in a wide range of educational approaches including Colourstrings, the Kodaly Approach and the Suzuki Method as well as studying under renowned music professionals at leading conservatoires. Whilst training for their professional musical performance qualifications our members undertook outreach work for Live Music Now! and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Since the formation of Akina Strings, the group have been keen to share their love of chamber music with all audiences young and old. They have performed Children’s concerts at Norden Farm in collaboration with Concertini as well as at Holme Grange School. Forthcoming engagements for Akina Strings include age-appropriate performances at Berkshire schools covering National Curriculum requirements for Early years all the way through to KS4. All performances are developed in discussion with and led by QTS holding music specialists.
